The Meadows House

Relax in a beautiful mountain setting at this 4-season ski house within walking distance of the slopes at Otis Ridge Ski Area (the best ski area south of the Vermont border). In fact, the back-yard (actually a meadow full of wildlife and flowers) used to be part of the ski area and there are still remnants of the rope-tow on the edge of the property. The long-range views off the back porch are fantastic.
The space
This house has 3 bedrooms, , 4 beds, 2.5 baths, a pull-out couch in the living room, and an electric air mattress to sleep up to 7 people. There is a large deck with half of it covered and screened in. Enjoy a warm fire in the living room or a soak in a new 7-person Artesian Spas Grand Cayman hot tub with all the bells and whistles down on a stone patio overlooking the meadow. If you’re looking for relaxation, this place and the surrounding area can’t be beat. Tons of great hiking, numerous lakes, and other attractions like the town of Great Barrington (20 minutes away), Tanglewood, and Jacob’s Pillow are just a short scenic drive away.
This house works best as a family retreat or a romantic getaway for couples. It does not work as a place to have large or loud parties as it is located within a quiet neighborhood and has new hard-wood floors. If you are considerate of other people’s property, I would love to host your stay and share why my family grew up skiing Otis and why it is the best place to ski on a powder day, or just relax in nature any time of the year.
Guest access
You will have access to all parts of the house, but please only go to the unfinished basement to access the washer and dryer and to get out to the hot-tub. It’s basically just used for storage at the moment, but there are plans to finish it as an entertainment area soon.
